Design

Michael Rex Architects is a professional architecture firm offering the principal disciplines of architecture including:

  • Pre-design Consultation

  • Site Planning

  • Schematic and Preliminary design

  • Project Approval and Permitting

  • Design Development

  • Construction Documentation

  • Construction Administration

Our service begins with a conversation and ends with a beautiful, functional and timeless environment for our Clients.

Clear Communication

The design process begins by assembling a team of professionals, with whom we collaborate to meet the needs of the Project. We communicate with the Client at each step of the design process both in meetings and in writing.

Management

We manage Project budgets, costs, and timing, so expectations are successfully met. Zoning and building codes are identified up front, so our designs conform to the law. Neighbors are contacted early in the planning process to avoid later conflicts.  Leadership is provided during the plan approval process to obtain the necessary permits. We know how to navigate the system to save money, time and stress, resulting in a more certain and favorable outcome. We help guide the construction pricing process and assist Clients in establishing a clear and fair construction contract with a builder they select. During construction, we visit the site to help ensure construction is consistent with the design intent.

Documentation

We share our architectural ideas with our Clients through design sketches, CAD drawings and 3-D models.  When requested, we provide fully detailed construction documents. Our services can include interior design—defining trim, cabinets, fixtures, fittings, finishes and colors. We also collaborate with interior designers, landscape architects, lighting specialists, artists and other design experts. We lead from concept to creation, guiding our Clients along the way.

Leadership

Michael often describes the architect’s role as the conductor of an orchestra, who envisions the tune and then leads many skilled participants in working together to create beautiful music.
